At Sea to Melbourne, Australia
Tuesday - Feb 19, 2008 - At Sea to Melbourne
We will be out at sea all day and most of this evening. The ship’s record is
talking about the Beaufort Wind Scale, which was created by Francis Beaufort,
who was born in 1774 in Ireland. He invented the Scale in 1806 as a method of
measuring the wind by the size of the waves, most important for sailing vessels
back in the 1800’s.
We had a great day on the water heading to Melbourne! The sea was perfect and the sun was brilliant! We spent most of the day on deck at Tommie's favorite bar overlooking the swimming pools and the sunbathers.
It will be formal dress this evening, so Monty will be wearing his Tux for
the first time. I think he actually enjoyed it. The pictures turned out nice as
well. We had a very relaxing day on the ship, went swimming in the back pool
which is heated and a salt water pool, I think they all are salt water, not sure
that they all are heated thou, as we never tried them. We did some gambling
after dinner, Monty won about $75.00 and I won about $10-15, which is just fine
with me, it’s only for fun anyway. The dinner and show were very enjoyable.
